Sponsored tournament

It seems that virtually everyone has Powacaddys these days, and some have even learned to master the controls. However there remains a select few who are obviously still learning the knack - in Saturday's medal, I was playing with John McDonald and we reached the 6th green and John then pressed the 20 yards button on his control - or at least that's what he thought he did. The Powacaddy motored on, up the astroturf path to the 7th medal tee - not once did it even hint at stopping - and it crashed straight in to one of the benches, which it upended, followed by the bin. The trolley then turned turtle and lay there, legs akimbo with the motor still running and the wheels spinning whilst we tried to contain our mirth and hole out our putts on the 6th green:

Our threesome was made up at the last minute by Bill Aitken (Jas didn't show) and his trolley had what looked like some kind of short rain hood on the main shaft. I asked Bill what it was and he answered "a shower cap" (like he needs one!) - so he demonstrated:
