Veneto day

From Gary Grant:

"We had a great day yesterday at Banchory Golf Course with the chaps from Italy.

Free food and wine tasting plus a meal in the clubhouse - it was great. There was a real buzz about the club. I have never seen it so busy.

Mrs Cook won the ladies section and her and a partner (not sure if it is Archie or not yet !!) are off to Italy in October plus a few others in support.

Funny of the day was when we were standing on the first tee and someone shouted fore to players on the second; Ali Sharp and Joan McWhinnie were on the 16th green and both almost dived to the ground for cover!!!! We were in stitches in the tent on the first tee at their actions and were accused of shouting fore at them in jest. It was only when the ladies came in to the clubhouse that all was explained and we were forgiven our actions.

James Byrne made an appearance at the club and I attach a photo of the ladies giving him moral support.

They looked very grand in their matching outfits; Les and I did our bit by supporting the Italian flag.

Finally, a picture of Mrs Cook being presented with her prize."
