St Andrews Bay

I had one voucher left on my Fairmont card for a fourball at St Andrews Bay, and this time, we chose the newly opened Torrance course where the Seniors had played last week.

As usual, it was windy but thankfully dry overhead - although the heavy overnight rain had made some of the areas muddy underfoot. The greens were fantastic and very, very quick. The initial greyness disappeared and the sun shone on our fourball:

Harry had played magnificently at Banchory on Wednesday but struggled yesterday, despite being his usual formidable self off the tee. He was a bit unlucky to find a fairway bunker off the 15th tee:

What happened next? Well, this was his next shot from the same bunker:

For the record, Keith and I comfortably beat Harry and Dick, and I won the individual stableford with 29 points. No balls as prizes but lots of money at stake - particularly for birdies and for hitting the greens at the par 3's. The net financial effect of the latter was pretty minimal however with all 4 of us hitting just one par 3 green each and there was only one birdie - mine at the 7th hole.
