We set off in 3-4-3 formation. Here's most of the first groups admiring last week's winner teeing off:
Harry and I had a fun match with Les & Ian D - here they are eyeing up their dodgy looking putts at the Doo'cot for a scrambled half:
Sorry - no tales to tell - with me back, Archie swore them all to secrecy. Just the facts then - last year's champ is off and running again. Ian's 38 points matched Archie's winning score of last week and they then went in to mutual admiration mode, awarding each other with the winning balls from Q2 & Q3:
I got a rollicking last night from Les for naming him as last week's DoD - he said "I thought we weren't doing that any more?", blaming me, when of course, the ever-smiling one had already listed all of last week's scores in descending order - hardly a secret then, was it Les? Mmmmm - wonder if I should start off the Senior Moments again?
It was a remarkably tight scoring night with 70% in a narrow band of just 4 points, and all bar one exceeding the respectability threshold:
1 Sharp, Ian 38
2 Meaden, John 37
3 Gray, Keith 36
4 Salter, Harry 35
5 Taylor, Dick 35
6 Dring, Ian 35
7 Stewart, Ian 34
8 Cook, Archie 32
9 Bhagrath, Jas 30
10 Gray, Les 26
Could there be a hat trick next week, or will there be a very quick Algarve flight booking?
13 players have put in a score so far, with 8 of them having played both available weeks, so the current leader board has a slightly strange look to it:
1 Gray, Keith 73
2 Meaden, John 70
3 Cook, Archie 70
4 Salter, Harry 69
5 Taylor, Dick 69
6 Sharp, Ian 69
7 Dring, Ian 65
8 Gray, Les 47
9 Pollard, Rob 37
10 Stewart, Ian 34
11 Corbett, Daniel 32
12 Bhagrath, Jas 30
13 Simpson, Jack 27
That's all for now - and, yes please, I would like to play next week Rob - not sure what the times booked are, but no doubt we'll hear in due course.
