Malcolm was a late injury call-off and Les excused himself from the morning round, so there were only 6 of us who played the Wee Course and 7 the Rosemount. Conditions were excellent - both courses were looking superb - the best I can remember them - and the weather was very kind to us. We certainly dodged quite a few bullets as the dark clouds all seemed to skirt by Blairgowrie and the sun shone. There was but one exception to this - when we were putting on the 13th green on the Rosemount in the afternoon, the skies darkened and there was a sudden hail shower. By the time we had played our tee shots at the 14th, however, the sun came back and the storm clouds were gone for good. Here's what it briefly looked like:
Dick was the morning winner round the Wee Course with 22 points and I was second with 20 points, yet again on countback - this time from Archie.
We had drinks outside prior to lunch and Les' arrival. Syd had to shield himself from the sun with my Scotland Cricket cap. He hung his head in shame:
We got off half an hour early after lunch, but just had enough time for the traditional team photo:
Archie also got the Longest Drive in the afternoon and the Nearest the Pin at the 17th, and Dick got the other NP at the 6th. Keith had a terrific last half dozen holes which was enough to make him the afternoon winner with 33 points - one better than me, with Dick in 3rd place with 29 points. Here's the winner with his spoils:
Great day out - well done, Peter.
