There were several "firsts":
- The long-awaited debuts of Messrs Dring, Meaden and Riches
- The first time we had played "in reverse" - B.o.G. on Sunday and Grantown on Monday
- A new name on the trophy - Ian D is the 20th
- Probably a record two round score (79). I have details of virtually all of the scores over the last 24 outings, going back to May, 2004 and this is the highest points total I'm aware of
- Likewise, Ian's winning margin of 14 points is also believed to be a record
17 of us gathered in the clubhouse for bacon butties on Sunday morning, including Dan, who would only be playing on Sunday, and Harry, who came directly from his holiday home in Aviemore.
Here's some photos from the course:

We hot-footed it back to Grantown and checked in to the Grant Arms then dashed across the road to the Garth Hotel for refreshments. A quick shower then, joined by Chris, we gathered in our hotel's conference room for a Powerpoint presentation on the history of our Boat of Garten outing - an updated version of the one shown 5 years ago on the occasion of our Golden Anniversary. There were some inevitable technical snags with the hotel's laptop - not my fault, Guv! - but we managed to get through it in time for dinner at 8.
There were a few who sloped off to bed early, but most of us stayed up and drank too much, as usual - but at least we didn't have to face the rigours of the Boat in the morning - it would be the gentler Grantown for once.
We managed to tee off slightly earlier than the scheduled 10 am. It was a still, misty morning and the midges were biting, but, thankfully, after the first couple of holes, the sun came out and the midges disappeared. Here's some of the photos of Monday's action:
Naturally, scores at Grantown were a bit better than at Boat of Garten:
