
It was a fine, sunny evening and here are the (supposed) contenders at the 6th tee:
Rob referred to his "birdie" at the 6th - and here it is:

I'd heard about it, but this was the first time I had viewed the fallen tree at the side of the 11th fairway. Our intrepid heroes did a balancing act and ventured out:

Rob has a bit of a history of trolley trouble (check out earlier Quaich photos on the blog) and he repeated the feat at the 13th tee, when it veered off, apparently unassisted and turned turtle:

Funny hats are now de rigeur with BSV and Cowboy Riches has now joined the gang:

Rob reported Les' retention of the SM trophy, but what he perhaps didn't realise and never mentioned was that Les had actually forgotten to bring the trophy down and Angela had had to do the honours again, and surreptiously slipped it behind the bar whilst we were out playing - uncannily like Les' clincher last season when he forgot his battery on the last evening of the Quaich. There's no doubt that he deserved to retain the trophy:
