Boat of Garten Sep 08

The first to tee off at Kingussie was Dan, who was nursing an injury to his gluteous maximus - hardly surprising when you see a turn like this - he's actually managed to turn further than merely facing the target:

Poor Dan eventually had to retire hurt but he did stay to enjoy the evening's festivities at least. His playing partners were also on camera at the 1st hole:

The second group out:

The last lot:

Malcolm again had a bit of trolley trouble going down the hill at the short 7th:

The pace of the field slowed dramatically on the back nine and we had to wait - some more patiently than others - on the 10th tee:

Peter won the Sunday round and here he is displaying his virtual ball for the winner:

Dinner at the Italian restaurant on the Aviemore complex - and specs were de rigeur for reading the menus:

On Monday morning, Malcolm and Syd arrived at BoG in Malcolm's new toy - neatly monogrammed monosodium glutamate (MSG):

Some of the gear was still wet from Sunday, so there was a virtual clothes line of umbrellas drying out on the 1st tee:

Archie arrived prepared for the forecast wet weather - having taken heed of the advice to wear shorts under his (noisy) waterproofs when/if the rain eventually came:

The alleged laggards led us off:

followed by the also-rans:

and then the so-called main contenders:

The winner receives the trophy from the defending champ and organiser:

The traditional winner's round at the Boat Inn was taken outdoors - at least initially - but the thin-bloods soon decided it was time to go indoors:
