Sponsored tournament

From http://bsvgolf.blogspot.com/

It turned out much nicer than was forecast for the annual sponsored tournament at Banchory. I always feel a tinge of sadness when this time of year comes round because, whilst it is a really nice day out, I can't help thinking about three years ago, when the Squash Club, after 27 years, was finally allowed to be the beneficiaries of the Sponsored Day. We worked really hard to make it a great day out - and it was - but, by the time the day itself came around, we had lost the court case and had no need for the money after all. I've still got the uncashed cheques!

I was a last minute stand-in for the Taylor's of Banchory team. It started off cool and showery and here we are on the 2nd tee:

After that however, the weather improved steadily and the layers were soon coming off. We did get a bit of a shock when we got to the Nearest the Pin at the 12th hole:

Surely not? All was revealed later - lucky bounce apparently!

We got through Jack's group who had a bit of trouble at the 13th hole and waved us through. We gratefully raced ahead, but spotted them again in trouble just to the right of the 14th tee. I zoomed in, but Jack was having none of it - "not my fault, guv - my ball's up there":

Team Taylor didn't score too well overall, but captain courageous Dick wasn't put off by his playing partners' duff play and he scored a fine 66 - a huge improvement on his performance on Wednesday night in the Quaich.
