Quaich update

From http://bsvgolf.blogspot.com/

Last report from Oregon as we head home Sunday/Monday. Well done to Chris on winning his first ever Quaich - and a 40-pointer too.

I've updated the file and, as usual, it's on the Yahoo site at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/BanchorySquashVeteransGolf/files/Summer%20Quaich/

The quick and easy version, however, is:

      To
    Top 10 drop Apps.
1 Taylor, Dick 354 32 13
2 Grant, Gary 350 28 10
3 Corbett, Daniel 333 29 10
4 Simpson, Jack 333 30 14
5 Sharp, Ian 332 28 11
6 Stewart, Ian 330 27 11
7 Meaden, John 317 27 12
8 McRae, Ian 315 22 11
9 Pollard, Rob 313 28 15
10 Dickinson, Chris 309 20 10
11 Black, Ken 297   9
12 Fulford, Steve 288   8
13 Riches, Hugh 284   9
14 Salter, Harry 281   9
15 Bhagrath, Jas 279   9
16 Gray, Keith 277   8
17 Gray, Les 196   6
18 Grigor, Malcolm 162   5
19 Cook, Archie 158   5
20 Page, Ken 70   2
21 Freeman, Syd 36   1
22 McWhinnie, John 34   1
23 Simcox, Richard 17   1

Gary made a significant move this week and is, effectively, level with Dick once you take account of their next scores to drop. Watch out for Steve, however - he has only played 8 times and is just 66 points behind - he could be a major threat if he manages to play the last 4 games.

The leading total of 354 is currently well behind last year's winning total of 391 and it looks like this year's winning score could even be challenging the all-time low of 372 (Rob - 2008).

Looking forward to playing 18 holes again next Wednesday. I've managed just a few quick 9 holes here and there with my son-in-law and grandson over the last month. Here we are at Applegate River GC late last Friday night:

Scott and I went back there again on Tuesday and played in a 9 hole Texas Scramble. We tied for 1st place with 6 under and then had to play a shoot-out with the other team - closest to the pin from 100 yards. Great fun, but we came second in the end.

Cheers.
