We all knew that, for the first time that I can remember, the annual season opening Captain's v. Vice-Captain's would be cancelled due to the pile of snow still lying on the course, but there was still a decent gaggle who showed up to witness Captain Ron Mudie raise the flag and hit the opening drive.
