Q 1

The link to this blog is http://bsvgolf.blogspot.com/

Well, this year's Quaich got off to a great start - 2 days late and only 2 of us taking part on what was still a winter course. They are apparently moving the tees and greens this evening so that we will be on the full course tomorrow, but, for now, it was still a short course with big holes, so naturally Syd and I scored really well - not.

In fact, we only completed 4 holes due to yet another in the long litany of trolley incidents. Syd set his trolley off on automatic towards the 5th tee (6th in summer) and noticed that the wheel was wobbling a bit. We holed out and then Syd tried to move his (new, state of the art) trolley to the next tee when everything collapsed - his bag fell off the trolley as did the wheel. Worth a photo for the archives:

Syd had to lump his strapless bag all the way back to the clubhouse whilst I balanced what remained of his trolley on my Powacaddy. Never mind, a good laugh was had afterwards in the clubhouse over a couple of pints of Greene King IPA and, all of a sudden, all's well with the world. Syd confessed that he thought that perhaps he had run over the trolley in his garage in his car. Where's the Wee Cup when you need it?

Points for attendance? - you bet! Scores for the database? - forget it! First prize ball of the season presented? - nope. Kitty collected - zero.

Better things next week hopefully.
