Courtesy of Malcolm's generosity and some continuing fine autumn weather, a total of 11 of us got a chance to play Aboyne on Friday afternoon. Four - Malcolm, Gary, Syd and Bill - were Aboyne members of course, but the other 7 of us - Messrs McRae, Salter, Street, Corbett, Pollard, Stewart and Black - got a freebie.
It was a lovely afternoon - as you can tell from this shot taken from the 12th tee, looking back down the 11th fairway at our last group:
We retired to the Boat Inn for some ale afterwards - or, at least, some of us did. Messrs Corbett, Grant & Pollard beetled off and McRae and Freeman ended up in the golf clubhouse, apparently unaware where the rest of us had gone.
Malcolm even donated a prize for the winner. Peter had 35 points, one more than me and two more than Syd, and he was the recipient of some refreshment:
