John was both organiser and winner of Day 4 and so presented himself with the prize ball:
We made the short drive to Maria's beachside restaurant, a beautiful spot that we'd been to last year, but well worth a repeat. Here's John and I on the rooftop bar:
I wasn't sure who had won the trophy at this stage as I didn't have any of the previous results with me. I knew it was very close and certainly one person looked very happy and relaxed:

We headed back to our apartments to shower, change and pack - and for me to check all the scores before the prizegiving. Sure enough, the maestro had done it again - albeit by the narrowest of margins. Last year's winner - Malcolm - presented Syd with the trophy:

We hadn't been down to the marina at Vilamoura all week so we jumped in a taxi and went down there for a couple of beers - and the Liverpool match - to wrap up an excellent week. Thanks all round to our local host, Les - and Angela, who was good enough to give up her car for a few days.
