Summer Tour XXII, June 2021

Harry reported this morning on the first day's play (although I corrected his unfortunate typo on the name of the place we were staying at): "Day 1 was at Longniddry - beautiful weather and even better greens, not a bare patch or sand accumulation in sight. John Meaden was the day 1 winner with 32 points, NPs were won by Gordon and Ian Dring and LD Malcolm. Ian Stewart won the special prize for greatest number of 3 pointers with a rather modest total of 3. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality at the Ducks Inn and a slightly jaded group this morning is looking forward to taking on Kilspindie today." I took a selfie on the first tee yesterday:
I then posted the above photo on Facebook and Andrea Meany immediately responded "where's Wally?". Here he is:
The clubhouse at Longniddry has a look of an old primary school (although internally it's more like an old folks' home):
After golf we rushed straight along to Aberlady and our accommodation:
We were delighted to see a choice of 3 real ales on offer:
Drinks before, during and after dinner and then came the impossible putting challenge in the bar afterwards:
Good luck to the remaining 9 playing Kilspindie today (Tuesday) and Gullane 3 tomorrow. Will Harry retain the trophy or will an in-form John Meaden keep his nose in front?
