DC XI - day 3

It was back to our home course of Palmeraie on Thursday - and it was a full house of 9 for yet another team line-up:

What a bunch of rag-tags - not even in uniform. The weather was superb and we knew by now that the course was an easy walking one, so Ian, Dan and Dick all opted to take caddies rather than buggies. We therefore had one buggy for two and one walker in each of our 3 groups. Here's the 3 caddies:

In the middle of the course, there's a small island in the middle of a lake and it's inhabited by a huge colony of large birds, creating a Hitchcock-like scene:

Malcolm was today's deserving winner, having just lost out on countback on Tuesday. Here he is receiving his ball from today's organiser, Nigel - note discreet wearing of new poofy shoulder bag for his valuables:

This was taken whilst Ian and Dan (acting as translator) reported the theft of Ian's Brietling from the washroom. We waited around for them after lunch but it was too much for some:

We eventually all made it back to our apartments at the Village, where there was still plenty of time to take some rays and catch up with some reading:

For dinner, we got the bus to take us in to town to a restaurant that had been recommended to me - Comptoir Darna (http://www.comptoirdarna.com/restaurant-comptoir-darna-marrakech-maroc-eng.html) - it was excellent and was unanimously felt to be the best of the week - great food and a marvellous atmosphere created by local musicians playing at the foot of the stair, and considerably enhanced by the arrival of a troupe (troop?) of belly dancers, who amazed us all by stepping up one by one and dancing on our table. Everyone immediately pulled out their cameras and got some great snaps - some of them extreme close-ups - no zoom required - here's one of the more gymnastic of the dancers:

Many dirhams were thrust in to various gaps betwixt skin and garment - it was like feeding slot machines and contributed to a substantial increase in group spending on the night! Marvellous evening!
