Sunday golf

In the end we managed to squeeze in an extra tee time to accommodate the 9 who showed up on a promising looking Sunday morning.

Les, Dick and I were at the back of the pack and, when we came to the 4th green, Dick, as usual, pressed the automatic 30 yard stop on his Powacaddy and sent it off towards the 5th tee. The result was inevitable:

It was then that Les revealed the previously unreported story of Dick's last incident with his Powacaddy just over a week ago, when it was sent towards the 3rd tee but trundled on from there, over the hill and down the slope all the way to the burn at the bottom, where it collided with the wall with terrific force. Running repairs had to be carried out and the front wheel straightened up after this bash.

We arrived at the 12th tee and had time for a seat and a photo:

When we got in to the clubhouse I asked for a seconder to increase the Sunday entry fee from £3 to £3.50 as all the beer prices had gone up - it was agreed and we all put our money in, but I then discovered that my relatively paltry 37 points was the best score and I became the accidental (honest!) beneficiary of this change.

Les didn't have the best of days, but he's finally off back to the Algarve tomorrow, so he won't be around next week when we're hopefully going to be signed on at Inchmarlo as Banchory is not available.
