Quickly:
1) John's second win out of only 3 starts gives him a pretty impressive average of 39
2) Hugh repeated Dick's "double-up" trick - a win and a DoD to his name now, and his first DoD since 13th May last year.
3) John followed Ian Sharp's feat of two 40 pointers, to bring our total for the season up to just 6 - with the exception of 2008, the lowest total to date in the last 5 years.
4) This week's attendance of 11 was bang on our average for this year - but down a couple on the last few years, but we now have Steve and Dan back for good and their regular attendances should boost the number from now on, as should the return from injury of Gary. We've already had the benefit of Ian D's return and he's been an ever-present up to now.
5) Mr Sharp's consolation from narrowly losing his singles tie on Wednesday was that his lead at the top increased dramatically to 10 points, as Dick had an off night.
6) The race for 3rd place is still nip and tuck between Dring and Meaden.
Here's the updated leader board, with the top 4 each having played 9 times:
1 Sharp, Ian 321
2 Taylor, Dick 311
3 Dring, Ian 300
4 Meaden, John 300
5 Simpson, Jack 258
6 Pollard, Rob 242
7 Stewart, Ian 238
8 Cook, Archie 238
9 Gray, Keith 170
10 Black, Ken 156
11 Corbett, Daniel 143
12 Salter, Harry 131
13 Riches, Hugh 129
14 McRae, Ian 123
15 McWhinnie, John 117
16 Bhagrath, Jas 100
17 Moir, Gordon 96
18 Gray, Les 83
19 Fulford, Steve 59
20 Grant, Gary 34
21 Grigor, Malcolm 31

Ian Sharp was present to put in his claim for a Quaich score on Wednesday, even although playing in a match, which, fortunately for him, went the full 18 holes, with (he says) no real gimmes. There were, however, no claims to post a Quaich score from Messrs Freeman and Corbett who had played earlier in the Senior Open, and would have had 39 and 37 points respectively - also playing off the same white tees as Ian - and having to hole out!
