Got lucky again with the weather today - Ian and I again donned our shorts for the 3rd day in a row (4 for me if you count Friday's Quaich). We were on the cusp of some rain clouds but they never came to anything as we played Dumfries & County - a hilly, parkland course with lots of blind shots, which didn't find favour with all our group.
Winner today with a superb back nine of 20 points - which also saved our match, Rob and I being 4 down at the turn to Syd and JT - was Mr. Pollard with 34 points:
He doesn't look very happy about it though, does he?
Peter got both NP's and JD the longest drive, whilst the fourball of Rob, Syd, JT and I easily won the team competition.
Winner of the overall event - and taking his first ever "Major" was Ian McRae with a total of 97 points - 8 ahead of JD in 2nd place, with Syd and I two more points behind (Syd had the better last round and gets 3rd place). Here's Ian receiving the trophy:
Ian now has a few months to decide where we all go next year - hopefully it will go as well as this weekend's did.
