IC XIV - belated blogs (3)

Day 3 on Friday at Andratx turned out to be equally as long and difficult as the previous day, but at least we got there in good time to have our first full team photo of the holiday:

The weather was stunning again - it seemed to be getting warmer each day - much higher temperatures than we expected - Ken and Irene had had a bit of mixed weather the previous week, so I guess we were very lucky.

One of our group had some difficulty at the first, but he was absolutely determined to keep his lost ball stats down, so, even if it was a tatty old Pinnacle and it was deep in a thorny bush, in he went:

Some of the holes were pretty tight, but there were some nice changes in elevation, affording fine views of the sea beyond Port Andratx:

We (just) had time for a quick beer before our team bus arrived, but the collection of the stats and the prize-giving was deferred until our evening get-together by Syd, today's organiser. This allowed most of us to slope straight off to the beach as soon as the bus got back to our hotel. The cove at Illetas was a fine place for an afternoon snooze:

Other chose to read a book - or at least pretend to:

Syd was the only person to get to 30 points so he awarded himself a prize ball at our evening get-together before dinner:

We took taxis in to nearby Palma and dined on large platters of just about every imaginable type of shellfish at a streetside restaurant - I enjoyed it, but there were some mutterings from others:

We took a stroll round the narrow tourist streets afterwards and popped briefly in to the amazing, locally famous Abaco (http://www.bar-abaco.com/) bar/restaurant:

Another wonderful day.
