Fife Outing etc

It was our annual outing to St. Andrews today. The Eden course has been the preferred choice since 2010 and it was to there that we returned with a full house of 12, despite the enforced withdrawal of Harry, Syd and Les.

We were blessed with lovely weather - it even passed Dick's 20C minimum level for wearing shorts:

Keith Gray, Dick Taylor, Rob Pollard, Chris Dickinson, Jack Simpson, Peter Street, Ken Page, Archie Cook, Malcolm Grigor, John McWhinnie & Ian Stewart
Why only 11 of us in the photo above? Who was missing?

Raymond Orr
At Rob's suggestion, we decided for once to forgo the delights of the Auld Grey Toon and head back to Finavon for food and refreshments, where we did the prize-giving. NP's were won by John McW and Raymond, who also won the LD.

The individual stableford was convincingly won by Rob, 4 points ahead of Ray, with Ken in 3rd place two further points behind. The team prize, however, went to Dick, Chris Peter and I with a best 3 score of 112.

Pollard, Rob 40
Orr, Raymond 36

In other news, and to prove that John McW did actually celebrate his recent hole in one in the traditional manner, despite the difficulties he had in buying a bottle in the golf club:

Also buying drams - this time in the Boat Inn, Aboyne for his birthday, was Bill Whyman, on a flying visit over here:
