What a wonderful weekend for this year's Summer Tour. Despite some travel diversions (the A68 was closed), most of us arrived in good time to witness the Lions' second half mauling of the Wallabies to get the weekend off to a fine start.
Lunch, washed down with pints of Pedigree, then on to the Hunting course, which was in magnificent condition. So good, in fact, that the greens matched those in Banchory!
Team photo first of all:
Jas Bhagrath, Ian Stewart, Peter Street, Bill Miller, Rob Pollard, Keith Gray, Ian McRae, Kenneth Gray & John Taylor. |
The other group were noisier than we were - I remember the good old days when we could out-shout anyone - and one of them, obviously very p****d, sat down next to John, sharing his chair and started telling us long, rambling stories. At first, we all found it amusing:
but soon, it got pretty boring - and annoying - as you can tell from John's face here:
Anyway, yesterday's clear winner was Rob, with 31 points, all of them attributed to his new clubs. Rob also got one of the NP's and Bill got the other one, with JT taking the Longest Drive. The team prize was won by John, Ian and I, with a best 2 score of 67 points, one better than the second team of Rob and the 2 Grays, with the others trailing in some distance behind.
Looks good again this morning - shorts are on, ready to go. Looking forward to watching Andy this afternoon - come on!
