Midsummer Outing - Edzell

The link to this blog is http://bsvgolf.blogspot.com/

A glorious late afternoon at Edzell yesterday - and a full turnout of 16, who lined up for the team photo at the start:

Malcolm Grigor, Jas Bhagrath, Keith Gray, Dick Taylor, Les Gray, Ken Page, Raymond Orr, Syd Freeman, Dan Corbett, Gary Grant, Ken Black, Nigel Meany, Peter Street, Harry Salter, John Meaden & Ian Stewart
I think yesterday was payback for last year's Midsummer Outing to Tarland, which was aborted by an electrical storm.

Nearest the Pins were won by Raymond and I, and Gary got the Longest Drive. There were some decent individual stableford scores - Les was 3rd with 37 points, John 2nd with 38, and I won with 39 points, courtesy of a level par back nine - 23 points.

More importantly, the team event was closely fought. Best 3 scores at each hole counted and Teams 1 & 2 both scored 115 points, so it went to countback. Team 1 had played the front nine better, but Gary, Dan, Nigel and I took the prizes with a better inward nine.

Lovely place - course looking good, but Banchory's greens are better - in fact, I would say Banchory has the best greens I have played on this season - not often we can say that. Hope they can keep it up.
