B.o.G. May 2012 - the 53rd Outing - day two

From http://bsvgolf.blogspot.com/

The first thing we noticed when we arrived at Boat of Garten was the smart new extension, housing the pro shop and allowing for new, expanded changing rooms:

It wasn't as windy as Sunday but B.o.G. is a tougher track than Grantown and it showed in the scores, which were more than a couple of points per head lower. Four players managed to achieve the respectability threshold of 30 points - Les, Malcolm, Dan & Peter - with Jas going one better to win the trophy for the first time in over 50 attempts. Here's Malcolm making the presentation:

Keith got the first NP and Malcolm picked up the other, along with the LD again. The first four out - Les, Jas, Bill and I - won the team event with 76 points, and the rest of the prize-winners for the weekend were:

Overall winner - Jas (64)
2nd overall - Malc (63)
3rd overall - Les (63)
Scratch - Malc
Sunday winner (not overall) - Bill
Monday winner (not overall or Sun) - Peter

The usual team photo had to be taken for the archives:

Peter took the opportunity to belatedly present the Winter Grand Prix trophy to Jack:

Sticking with tradition, Jas invited us all back to the Boat Inn, Aboyne for a celebratory beer, although he doesn't look too happy about it in this photo - but the camera does lie sometimes:

Well done, Jas - holder of the Iberian Cup and now winner at last at Boat of Garten. Syd wasn't present this weekend, but some of us thought we heard his ghostly spectre muttering something about the "H" word!
